Wargo French had the pleasure of participating in the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) 2020 Driving Diversity & Leadership Conference in Fort Lauderdale.  We enjoyed team-building at the Amazing Race with our NAMWOLF partner firms, engaging with many of our fantastic current clients and meeting new companies working to enhance their inclusion efforts.  As always, it was a great event!  Looking forward to attending the Annual Meeting in September in Baltimore, Maryland and continuing our partnership with NAMWOLF!

Wargo French had the pleasure of sponsoring The University of Georgia (UGA) School of Law's Women Law Student Association (WLSA) event “Women Helping Women: Mentoring and Networking Lessons Learned,” on February 11, 2020.   We enjoyed a lively discussion from UGA alumni on mentorship and networking.

Team Wargo French was excited to join in the 2020 Cycle for Survival ride in Miami, Florida.  Cycle for Survival raises funds to research, treat and cure rare forms of cancer.  This is Wargo French’s third year participating in the Miami ride and we could not be more proud to raise funds for such an important cause!

On December 13, 2019, Wargo French obtained a jury verdict for its client MSouth Equity Partners against Alston & Bird after a two-week jury trial.  The jury found that Alston committed malpractice by rendering negligent tax advice in 2011, and subsequently in 2013 and 2014 through its communications with MSouth regarding the error and an ongoing audit by the IRS.  The jury awarded MSouth $4.7M as compensation.  Wargo French is very pleased to have helped MSouth achieve this result after four years of litigation.  Congratulations to the Wargo French trial team -

Wargo French was proud to have represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Munilla Construction Management Bankruptcy case involving the FIU Bridge collapse.  We are pleased that confirmation was achieved.

Stacey Godfrey Evans, a partner in our Atlanta office, had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the 26th Annual Cobb Collaborative Human Services Awards.  Award nominees were recognized for their dedication to working with (or volunteering with) those less fortunate in the community, their professionalism within the community, and their collaboration with others and involvement in the community.
